Seaton to Haytor on Dartmoor and back, you must be joking! PDF Print E-mail

Madal's 100, Haytor, 2009Well that is exactly what 14 members of Axe Valley Pedallers have just done on this years Madal's 100. Very early on Sunday morning when most of us still intend to stay tucked under the duvet for at least another 3 hours, a rather chilly gathering of cyclists met outside the Seaton Tourist Information office for their annual June ride. Each year they set off to complete a minimum of 100 miles and hopefully help some club members to complete this holy grail of cycling.

Sono’s cycle to work challenge PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 01 May 2009 17:05
Sono, a bike and a pair of gunsSeb ‘Sono’ Cope AVP’s charity officer is on a bit of a mission for the month of May. This is his press release:

“I am cycling to work for the month of May in order to raise money for the Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT). As a member of the Axe Valley Pedallers, our chosen charity is DAAT and this is our fourth year sponsoring this very worthy charity. We are aiming to reach the target of £10,000 raised from events over the previous four years. To help reach the target, I thought cycling to work (Combpyne to P H Hardwill in Blackdown) would be a good challenge. If you know the area and the terrain I will be cycling, you will know how difficult this will be! Lots of ups and downs during the 12.5 miles there and just the same for the 12.5 miles back!”

"Please sponsor me online at our ‘Justgiving’ website www.justgiving.com/axevalleypedallers or see me on club night down the Kings Arms on Thursday".

Not long to go and there is still time for you to book!

Sadly Jive Bubbles can not make it and so her place is ready to be booked, fancy an adventure and some November sun?

In February of this year I travelled to Morocco to climb Mount Toubkal in winter conditions. Whilst there I took some time out to meet the owner of a travel company and see if we could come up with an exclusive MTB package for AVP. After many emails and a number of phone calls, we have created what is I believe, a really exciting end of year holiday, just for AVP (& friends)!

The objective is the combination of a linear cycle route and two nights in Marrakech for that full Moroccan experience.
