Could you be the next Nicole Cooke
Those of you who spent your summer evenings last year racing round the Merryfield Airfield at Ilton will be well aware of the fantastic buzz you get from riding in a bunch on a traffic free, closed race circuit. Those of you who haven’t just need to ask a Pedaller who did to see their eyes light up as they recall the thrill!

Wouldn’t it be great if we had such a facility closer to home and a race series strictly for novices and beginners? Even better if there were coaching from a British Cycling coach and you didn’t need an expensive race licence to take part.  Well, guess what..... we have!

AVP, in association with our neighbouring clubs CS Dynamo and Exeter Wheelers and under the guiding hand of British Cycling will be hosting on our own mini race series for novice riders. The races will take place over three Sunday mornings on the 28th May, the 6th June and the 20th June this year.

So, if you fancy having a go at racing but don’t know where to start or find the idea of going head to head with a bunch of super fit racing snakes a rather intimidating prospect then this is a fantastic opportunity not to be missed.

It’s essential that the hosting clubs provide volunteers to run the races so it’s important AVP do our bit to help ensure the event is a success. If you’d like to get involved but don’t wish to race please do offer your help.

If you are interested in taking part please speak to Nevis or leave a message on the forum here.
Could you be the next Mark Cavendish?
