Four members of Axe Valley Pedallers travelled up to Canary Wharf to watch the start of the Halfords Tour Series and one ended up on the podium for all of the presentations!
Sooty, Quiff, Alysun and Madal were all up in London to work with The Prostate Cancer Charity team that is promoting the South West Tour Ride on Sunday 5 th September. At the very last minute, a stand in for Tobi, The Tour mascot was needed and Alysun (James Cope) stepped into the role, entertained the crowds and stood up on the podium with the individual and team winners (and the podium girls)!
Don't forget Thursday 3rd June, Round Four of the Halfords Tour Series in Exeter Tour Series Exeter
Well done Alysun, pity you didn’t have a very large AVP shirt! |

Yet another brilliant evening was enjoyed by members of AVP as they gathered at Sono’s place for a bike painting session followed by an even better BBQ than last week! Well done to all who turned up: Sono, Whinger, Woodworm, No 10, Fishnet, Quiff, Bar Bunny, Ketchup and Madal.
There is going to be a planning and design meeting this Thursday with Seaton Town Council and then another bike painting session and BBQ at Sono’s on Wednesday 26th May. If you’ve not already joined in, now is the time to help out on this artistic AVP creation. |

A big thank you to Sono for hosting a really great bike painting and BBQ evening, with an excellent turnout of enthusiastic Pedallers, turning rusting wrecks into brightly covered bikes!
The front garden of Sono’s home was turned into an outdoor paint shop with Jolly, Barley, Buster, Quiff, Bar Bunny, Woodworm, Whinger, Madal and Sono all at hand as a work party. The project is to provide at least a dozen bicycles that will be painted, each in a single colour and then used to decorate a |

The Tour Series city centre cycle racing in Exeter last year was a huge success and inspired cyclists all over East Devon to get on their bikes. This year’s race is being held on the 3rd of June and three local cycling clubs Exeter Wheelers, C S Dynamo (Exmouth) and Axe Valley Pedallers have taken this opportunity to encourage East Devon’s cyclists to have a go at racing for themselves.
With the help of the South West’s British Cycling Events Co-ordinator Andrew Parker and Zsolt Schuller, Cycling Officer for Devon County Council they have worked hard to set up a series of 3 events that give young and novice cyclists a taste of racing and the chance to learn new bike skills. Entry level “Go Ride” events encourage anyone to try racing without specialist equipment, Lycra or even club membership. All bikes and abilities are catered for and there is even a bit of bike maintenance and advice on the day.

At the start of the May bank holiday weekend, a group of fifteen Axe Valley Pedallers took a day trip to Guernsey. An early start was required as the fast ferry from Weymouth was due to leave at 08:00. Everyone arrived at the ferry port with time to spare and three tandems and nine solos were safely wheeled on board to set off for shores afar. We arrived in Guernsey just after 10:00 and made our way eastwards out of St Peter Port heading for Cobo bay. |
