Although we are a young club we have seen a remarkable growth in members over the last four years.  This is how it all started.

During the summer of 2004, Alistair ‘Madal’ Cope and Anne ‘Deegee’ Roberts joined Sustrans on one of their ‘Trailblazing’ rides.  They cycled from Seaton down to the Eden Project over a period of 4 days and had a brilliant time.  When they returned home Madal, who had so enjoyed the ride decided to join the local club, the only problem with this idea was there wasn’t one!  Madal, not one to be deterred, contacted all the people he knew that had bicycles and the first Axe Valley ride took place in January of 2005 with about a dozen pedallers.

From those early days the club has grown significantly and the exploits of the club's riders have become varied and impressive, however it is the community side of the club that remains the foundation for all its activities and the focus of this is firmly on having fun!
